Why is my outdoor faucet leaking or dripping?
What’s likely going on
A worn washer inside the spigot is the most common cause — the same wear-and-tear issue as an indoor dripping faucet, just outside. In colder climates, a spigot that wasn't properly winterized can also crack internally from freezing, which shows up as a leak once it warms up again.
Is this a DIY job or worth calling someone?
Not urgent on its own, but worth fixing before winter if you're in a climate that freezes — a leaking spigot is more likely to have already suffered freeze damage that will get worse.
Not sure, or ready to have someone take care of it?
