Why does my grout still look dirty no matter how much I scrub it?
What’s likely going on
Grout is porous, so dirt and mildew work their way into the material itself over time, not just sitting on top of it — which is why surface scrubbing stops helping after a certain point.
Is this a DIY job or worth calling someone?
A baking-soda paste and a stiff brush is worth trying for moderate discoloration. Grout that's been neglected for years, or has visible mold in it, usually needs a deeper treatment than surface scrubbing can achieve.
Not sure, or ready to have someone take care of it?
